My Review

Karin Slaughter has been one of my favourite authors ever since I read her first novel (Blindsighted) back in 2001. I have faithfully purchased every single novel since (Unseen is the 13th), as well as most of her short stories.

The novella, Busted, takes place just before the events in Unseen, but it is in no way necessary to read it beforehand. That being said, I am glad that I did. It was a fast paced, and sometimes humorous, read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Unseen sees the return of one of my favourite characters from previous books. As soon as her name is mentioned you know there is going to be plenty of tension ahead, and it was great to find out more about her story and what has happened to her since the last time she appeared.

The book was fast-paced and action-packed and at times very heart-warming. I think this has to be one of my favourite books in the series so far. I already can't wait to see what Karin comes up with next.

While it isn't necessary to read the previous books to enjoy this current one, I still highly recommend that you do so that you can fully understand the characters and the dynamics at play between them.

I give both Busted and Unseen 4 out of 5 stars each.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of these books in exchange for an honest review.

My Rating System:
1 star: I will never post a 1 star review because this means it was so bad I couldn't finish it, and I don't won't publicly rate a book I haven't read all the way through.
2 stars: I may have liked the story but it was badly written or it may have been a boring story well written. Something about it kept me reading but I didn't enjoy it.
3 stars: A good, enjoyable read. If the description appeals to you I'd recommend reading it.
4 stars: A really good book that I thoroughly enjoyed and may even read again. I will want to read other books by the same author. Highly recommend.
5 stars: Reserved for books that blew me away and whose characters I can't get out of my head. These are books that I will definitely read again, possibly several times. If I read an e-book version I may even have to go buy a hard copy for my shelves. Why are you still here? Go read this book right now.
